When it comes to hydrophobic down sleeping bags, our two most popular options for backpackers and campers alike are the Disco™ and Riff™. Both bags are ideal for three-season use, Spoon™ shaped, and part of our Endless Promise™ collection (which, bonus, means they're recyclable!). If you’re unsure which option is best for you, there are some key differences that can help you decide.
Warmth and insulation:
Both bags are rated the same temperature with 15°F and 30°F options, but the fill power of the down is different. Disco bags have 650 fill power down, whereas the Riff have 800 fill power. The higher fill power allows Riff to pack down lighter and smaller than Disco, which may appeal to thru-hikers and other ounce-counters. Shape
The Disco is our Classic Spoon™ bag, whereas the Riff is our Ultralight Spoon™ bag. This means that Disco is slightly wider than Riff at the elbows and knees, making it roomier — and a bit bulkier. Both, however, are equally cozy and are ideal for side sleepers!
Weight and Packed Size
Because of the shape and fill power differences listed above, the Riff is the notably lighter choice with the Men's 15°F regular size weighing 2 lb , 7 oz versus the Disco Men's 15°F regular size weighing 2 lb , 11 oz. Additionally, the Riff packs smaller, just 11.5 x 7.5 inches in diameter compared to the Disco at 11.5 x 8.5 inches in diameter.
