What is OSMO™?

NEMO’s all-new OSMO™ fabric collection is the first to harness the benefits of polyester and nylon in a composite weave that maximizes performance while reducing environmental impact. The proprietary ripstop fabric is woven from 100% recycled yarns and features 4x better water repellency and 3x less stretch when wet. On top of that, OSMO™ fabrics are 20% stronger than comparable tent fabrics, yet are still amazingly lightweight.

OSMO™ fabrics achieve their exceptional waterproofness through a combination of physical and chemical attributes. The polyester yarns it contains don’t absorb water, so it stays drier from the start, and the fabric is backed with a PFAS-free hydrophobic coating, so it stays that way.

We specifically designed OSMO™ to be PFAS- and FRC- free to help protect both people and the planet. By using only recycled yarns to make OSMO™, we also significantly reduce the volume of carbon emissions created through the manufacturing of it.
